Principal's Letter

Hello Cabrillo Community,

I am delighted to introduce myself. My name is Robin Pang-Maganaris, and I am very excited to join your school. I can't wait to greet children every morning, spend time in classrooms, watch children at recess, and connect with parents and staff. I am so excited!

A little about me: I live in Belmont with my husband of 35 years, Gary, and our labrador, Gracie. Gary and I have two grown children, Kelsey (29) and Steven (21). I hold a B.S. in Psychology from Santa Clara University, a M.A. in Elementary Education from San Jose State, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Cal State East Bay. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher in Elementary Education. Professionally, I spent 16 years teaching (5 years in 4th grade and 11 years in kindergarten/1st grade) and 15 years as a principal (9 of those years at a TK-8 school) before retiring in 2022. Since retirement, I’ve enjoyed serving in interim principal roles, and Cabrillo is my third.

Outside of school, I love family time, traveling, reading, and long walks with Gracie. I also serve on Belmont’s City Council.

Most importantly, I want you to know that I am here to support you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or just to say hello—I look forward to getting to know you!
